Accessing the C++ Primer Ebook
One of the reference texts for this course is the C++ Primer, 5th Edition by Stanley B. Lippman, et al. You will see suggested sections to review mentioned in many of the homework assignments.
This text is available as an ebook from the Claremont Colleges Library. From inside the Claremont Colleges network, you can access the book using this link: https://learning.oreilly.com/library/view/c-primer-fifth/9780133053043/.
After a moment, you should be redirected to a page to enter your Claremont Colleges credentials. You’ll then be redirected back to the ebook. (If you’ve logged in recently, you might just be taken directly to the ebook.)
If that approach doesn’t work, you can also use these steps:
-
Go to https://libguides.libraries.claremont.edu/662 and enter your Claremont Colleges credentials.
-
Once you’ve been redirected to the O’Reilly website, type
c++ primer
in the search box at the top of the page and click the Search button or hit Return; the fifth edition by Lippman, et al., will probably be the first search result. -
Click on the “C++ Primer, Fifth Edition” result to access the ebook.
Note that after you access the ebook the first time, you should see a direct link to the C++ Primer on the O’Reilly site in the “Your History” section on the right-hand side of the page (so you can skip steps 2–3 above).
(When logged in, completion status appears here.)
