CS 70

Checking In

We want to be respectful of your time. Our goal is to make each lesson about as much material as we would cover in a 75 minute class. We know that in this asynchronous mode the actual time it takes will differ from person to person and may fluctuate based on your circumstances. Still, we want to get an overall sense of how much time lessons are taking up so we can calibrate as we go.

Roughly how long did this lesson take you to work through?

  • Horse speaking

    Whoah, that's a lot.

  • LHS Cow speaking

Yeah...you know yourself best, but make sure you leave room for MORE rest, reflection, and fun in between your classes!

  • Dog speaking

Well, I can't wait for my next CS course! Hopefully I'll learn to build the robot butler I've always dreamed of!

  • Alien speaking

That is an unlikely scenario, canine creature. You cannot always sleep hallucinate about artificial servants.

    Beep Boop.

  • Sheep speaking

Feebleglorp, I think he meant.... I mean, Dog, it is unlikely but.... Oh never mind; you'll work it out. Love ya, fam.

  • Sherlock speaking

    Tally-ho!

  • Rabbit speaking

And don't be afraid to go down the rabbit hole sometimes; there's cool stuff down here!

  • Bjarne speaking

    And don't forget...

  • LHS Cow speaking

...this is part of our heritage?

  • Bjarne speaking

No, that's just a joke that the CS 70 profs made up. But the real Bjarne would say...

    • "The most important single aspect of software development is to be clear about what you are trying to build."
    • "If you keep your good ideas to yourself, they are useless.... Only by articulating your ideas...do they become a contribution."
    • "The first solution that's good enough is rarely the best solution."
    • "Test early and often."
    • "Don't be (too) clever."
