About the speaker:
Prof. Ahmad Adib Shaar is from Aleppo, Syria. He received his BSc. in Electronics from Military Technical College (Cairo), and his MSc. in digital communications and PhD. in computer networks, both from University of Kent (Canterbury, UK). Before joining Harvey Mudd College this year, he was on the academic staff of the Military Engineering Academy (Syria), King Khaled University (Saudi Arabia), Mamoun Private University (Syria), and a visitor at Salisbury University. His many technical contributions include co-invention of applications of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) to collision resolution algorithms, radar systems, e-voting, and fiber optic channels (some with P.A. Davies and C.F. Woodcock).
