This talk will be about summer research led by professors Melissa O’Neill and Chris Stone. The students who worked for them over the summer will discuss their work on Observationally Cooperative Multithreading as an easier and safer alternative to the preemptive multithreading systems used today.
For the past 5 years, Prof. Alvarado’s research team has been developing a system for recognizing hand-drawn digital circuit diagrams. The day when that system is ready for use is here! (Well, sort of…). In this talk we will present LogiSketch, our complete system for recognizing and simulating hand-drawn digital circuit diagrams. The talk will address the recognition challenges that we had to address this past summer, as well as the many important user interface challenges, as well as our solutions to both sets of problems. We can’t promise a live-demo, but attendees will be invited to try out the system after the talk concludes.
This week’s colloquium will be at Pomona.
