Great offensive effort by the Predators during the final minute of the 3rd
period.
Cliff Ronning scored twice in this game.
Predators outshot the Ducks 30 to 23.
LOWLIGHTS:
The Predators' seemed to struggle in the 1st period.
Predators allowed Anaheim's Paul Kariya to score twice.
Predators have now lost 5 straight.
COMMENTS: The Predators seemed to have a lot of trouble getting a
shot-on-goal during the opening minutes of this game. That is, it was pretty
clear that the Ducks dominated the Predators throughout the 1st period,
scoring 2 goals in the first period. Nashville got on the board when Scott
Walker scored at 11:45 of the 2nd period. However, the Predators appeared to
dominate much of the 3rd period. With less than 1 minute left in the 3rd
period & with the Ducks leading 4-2, the Predators put a lot of effort into
their attempt to tie up the game, although in vain. After Predators' goalie
Mike Dunham was pulled for an extra attacker, Cliff Ronning scored with only
0:33 seconds remaining in the 3rd period, but Anaheim's Guy Hebert managed to
hang on & preserve the win for the Ducks, effectively extending the Predators'
current losing streak to 5 games. (UGH!) However, if the Predators were able
to keep Kariya & Selanne in check, the final score might have turned out more
favorably for the Predators.
