Customer Elicitation Report
We spoke to Nathaniel Thursday 10/3 in Sprague after the other teams had a chance to ask the most relevant questions to their projects. The most important points we took away from the elicitation are:
- Our game will be played by middle school students (6th grade) in class in groups on the iPad.
- Our game must revolve in some way around Finite State Machines. We do not, however, have to acknowledge that our game is related to FSM.
- Our audience is split between students who like the computer science class a lot and those who are bored/uninterested. Ideally, we’d like to capture everyone’s attention by enticing them with JUICE and a core gameplay element that is fun.
- The other groups are afraid to upgrade to iOS7 despite SpriteKit. We need to find a solution to this problem because SpriteKit is our preferred framework. Nathaniel is currently using iPads running iOS 6. The other groups communicated that this is preferable, but we are going to try and educate them on why iOS 7’s new features, in particular Sprite Kit, makes updating worthwhile.
- Nathaniel is very open to our ideas and willing to allow us to move forward with our concept.
