Learned to walk and talk and stuff. Lots of dreams.

California

1982-1985

Kindergarden somewhere. Learned how to swing. Driveway rocks spark when struck together.

Grafton Bethel

I liked it ok, my brother didn't. My parent's didn't either.

Trinity Lutheran
1985-1987

Weird religious stuff every birthday. Little books about Abe Lincoln and George Washington. Nap-times. Anti-drug skits. Trouble with bus-driver. Brother graduates.
Grafton Bethel
1987-1989
Spelling Bees, Math Bees, Library Skits. Learned how to write? Learned how to stutter. School bus trouble. School trouble.
Home schooling.
1989
Lots of reading and writing. Zorro at noon. Field trips (hands on science). Distilled water. Lots of math. Entire next year's curriculum of history and science. Wow.

1989-1991

History all over again. Hella math placement. Mostly nice teachers, never really got in trouble except with the lunch ladies. Can't convince my teacher that a 3 1/4 isn't a hard disk. A little bit too much of the bathroom pass and walk in line thing. Each year repeats the last, with maybe a bit more depth.

Hampton Roads Academy
1991-1994

Freedom, at least for a little bit. Once again, the same old stuff, just a little bit more detail. Fun. Friends. Infatuations. Computer experience. And then a new headmaster comes in and blows it all to Hell. I'm out in a year, before it becomes a boarding school. That guy was quite an ass, my brother even bailed for Cornell without graduating. On the way through: algebra, geometry, trignometry, and other random middle school courses. The teacher is still always right.

York High School
1994-1997
Skipped to 10th grade, mainly with math credits (up to Calculus). 10th grade not terribly exceptional. Senior friends all graduate. APs in 11th and 12th grade a bit more fun. We get the good teachers. Graduate Valedictorian with the class of 1997. More friends and infatuations.

New Horizons Governor's School
1995-1997
Wow. This place kicks ass. Dual enrollment with high school and local college for science and math courses. A lot of fun. A lot of field trips. Two mentorship experiences. Odyssey of the Mind, and other competitions we slaughter. Amy Reighard.

Christopher Newport University

Computer science courses. UNIX. The world-wide-web. Credit for Governor's School courses.
Harvey Mudd College
1997-2000
College. I don't know. Everyone plays computer games. First year starts off way too easy so I'm not ready for the next stuff. Freshman courses suck. Engineering sucks. Economics suck. Psychology is cool. Physics, Computer Science, and Math. Students get worse as they go so I find some new friends in every incoming class -- they aren't obsessed with computer games yet. Some really cool profs. Governor's School was better though. Summer Research. Rosie Wacha.

I, ideally, will graduate from Mudd in Spring 2001. After that ... ?
... 2002 Update: I'm out, free! In summary, there were good things and bad things about Harvey Mudd College. I feel surprisingly strong about some of the feelings I have about this whole deal. I'm glad I'm not in massive debt. By the way, did I mention ultimate?
