2002: I'm aware the above pages don't really work. I just had all the files in a nice big directory that your browser should index, but for some reason turing doesn't let you do that. Silly turing. As I update more of this webpage, I suspect I'll be adding some more of my writings plus make these links work somehow. If you're really desperate, email me at Cornell (jhartlin@cs.cornell.edu) and I can tar up a directory or two and send it to you.

Some collected quotes:
I raise my arm against the victor
Wielding my plastic sword
And in my left hand
My paper shield
Friends you know, you lust, you lose
It's just to pass the time
Ephemeral hope, eternally hopeless
Sieze the day, lose the moment
Our density overwhelms us
while our ignorance calms us
Glory and pestilence
Life is the tapestry of our imagination
It is a song woven of silk
and stained in blood
and hung upon itself
From what is
a part will be
the rest will not
I forgive you for your rage
Yet not for your meditations
Life is just a mirror -
of shadow steam and lies.
Life is just an echo -
it lives and then it dies.
Burning, falling, dying, childing.
The space of nothing
in steady oscillation
The books in which we scribe
the thoughts in which we hide
And suffer in suffocating satisfaction
I'm not a magician
and I'm not a medicine man
I'm just another guy whose looking
for the answers
Allured
by illusion
possessed by confusion
God is not an escape
but another path
of promise and painlessness
You can run away
from the sun forever
But after a day you'll
find that your way went nowhere
