SHADOWS

I just couldn't keep from noticing,
as evening fades into night.
A shadow moved across the street,
and I hope that it's all right.

But I watched until I saw,
that shadow drift into a door.
I lost that sight and breifly stood,
for what awaited more.

A focused on the window ledge,
and saw the shadow cross alone.
