A MEMORY

Tires wear on gravel
I'm driving down the lane
Thinking of my memories
And they're driving me insane

Three long months felt like forever (but)
It was gone when I blinked my eyes
For a month my life began to fall away
Now where there's truth I just see lies

So I'm dreaming of driving
And driving through the past
Yeah, dreaming of so good a feeling
I should have known it couldn't last

The days, they dwindled by the hour (and)
The weeks, they felt like years
But I've come around the love we had
And now, there's no more tears

Yet the car still drives through the sun and rain
And the clouds, they come to shield my pain
Sometimes I hurt when I think too long
