When the rain's an endless torment
-that rattles at your door.
A face behind a window
-and tears on the floor.
When a kiss is cold and lifeless
-a touch the feel of pain.
Falling tears of fading love
-echoed by the endless rain.
Now the silent thoughts in an empty bed
-all the things you should have said.
But it doesn't matter what you say
-when the ashes blow away.
The gentle brush of summer's gale
-becomes a winter's reckless hail.
And you never know what to do
-when all your dreams come true.
