NSF has funded a multi-year project that will support a CCSC Showcase at Regional CCSC Conferences (similar to the NSF Sigcse Showcase). The goals for this Showcase are many, among them: assist NSF PIs in wider dissemination of their research, increase community awareness of NSF programs and projects, and increase community participation in the NSF proposal review process.
By becoming a CCSC National Platinum Partner, NSF accrues many benefits including a vendor table and a presentation session at each regional conference. It is the intention of the current PIs (Zach Dodds and Mike Erlinger of Harvey Mudd College) to work with each regional CCSC Conference Chair to determine the Showcase specifics for each conference. For example:
The CCSC Showcase project provides support for NSF PI travel to CCSC Regional Conferences. Each year regional conferences will be chosen based on NSF PI availability and conference focus.
There are two main written sources of NSF projects. The NSF website has a searchable list of recently funded projects. Another source is the NSF Sigcse Showcase website: http://nsfshowcase.org/category/showcase. Of course CCSC Regional Conferences are free to request any NSF PI that might fit the conference agenda. Ideally, the PI would come from outside the Region, as one goal of this project is to expand geographic access to NSF projects.
