Friday afternoon turned out to be a less than stellar time to watch movies in the lounge. Everyone has their own way of kicking back and relaxing during this time, and expecting people to be quiet enough to watch a movie? Not a recipe for success. Theme 1: New York
- New York Cop Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) searches for drug deal. (Intense Police Thriller)
- Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) and Annie Hall (Diane Keaton) fall in love, out of love and in love again. (Romantic Comedy)
- C. C. Baxter (Jack Lemmon) lets out his apartment for executives to have affairs in, but one day, he returns to find a cute elevator operator from his office (Shirley MacLaine?) has attempted suicide there. A romantic comedy at times darker than one would expect.
- A musical romp through Romeo and Juliet played out by two rival gangs in New York. (Pure Musical)
Theme 2: James Stewart
- Wealthy socialite Tracy Lord (Katharine Hepburn) has her wedding crashed by her ex-husband (Cary Grant) and a newspaper reporter (James Stewart). (Trashy 1940s movie showing off Hepburn... I mean Comedy)
- Boy Rangers leader, Jefferson Smith (James Stewart), just plains socks it to the man. (Drama)
- Small-town everyman George Bailey (James Stewart) just thinks that it's not worth living anymore. But, an angel named Clarence shows him the beauty of life. (Super Mushy Drama)
Theme 3: Dustin Hoffman
- Recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. Quickly, he is seduced by Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), but he really loves her daughter Elaine (Katharine Ross). (Awkward Comedy)
- Joe Buck (John Voight) is a male prostitute bumbling his way around the streets of New York until Enrico Rizzo (Dustin Hoffman), a sickly male prostitute himself, shows him the ropes. (Drama, not Porn)
- 10. Tootsie? (#62)
- Unemployed and notoriously difficult actor Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman) dresses up like a woman to get himself a job. (Comedy)
Theme 4: Marlon Brando
- 11. AStreetcarNamedDesire? (#45)
- Stanley Kowalski (Marlon Brando) and his wife Stella host her sister Blanche DuBois? (Vivien Leigh).
- 12. OnTheWaterfront? (#8)
- Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando), an ex-prize fighter turned union official, fights against the corrupt system with the help of Father Barry (Karl Malden).

On the topic of ratings, even though no one has asked me the question, all of these movies could get a 5/5 rating. If you're comparing them against a field of garbage like the majority of movies currently in theaters (not counting your favorite movies, of course), they would stand out. So, if one of these movies gets two stars out of five, it doesn't mean you should never see it. As an ancient Hebrew saying goes, "It's better to be the tail of the lion then the head of the ass." But, as yet, all the movies have passed. Can they honestly have picked 100 movies that I'll enjoy? We'll soon see. --BenjAzose
