Sheldon Wettack is the HarveyMuddCollege Dean of Faculty. He's technically a member of the CheMistry faculty even though he doesn't have a PhD, doesn't teach classes, and is generally more annoying than many chem profs put together. More annoying (and icky) is his assistant, Eric "Smithers" Ditweiler (see EricDitweiler). Sheldon's job is to negotiate the tricky business of interdepartmental politics... whether he does a good job is an interesting question, especially if you listen to faculty members talk about him (or just the rivalries between their departments).
