How to Use Quantum Mafia Exchange

General Information

• Open Games - These are games which people have made that are waiting for players to join. Once the prescribed number of players have joined the game, the game will be moved to the "Initialized Games" column.
• Initialized Games - Once a game has enough players, each player/god can assign each of the players' jobs. This process of gods assigning jobs to each of the players in their mafia game is called "configuring". Once all the players have configured themselves, we are ready to start the game.
• Ongoing Games - As the name suggests these are ongoing Quantum Mafia games. Each night phase ends when each player has pointed at another. The day ends everyone has cast a vote AND a consensus (usually 50% majority) is reached among the players as to who to hang. Eventually, one of the players will win and thy game will be over.
• Done Games - When a game is finished, it is preserved for posterity and all the password protection is removed, allowing anyone to peruse each player's (normally) secret information. This means that everyone can see how things went in everyone else's mafia game. So, feel free to look around and be amused at other people's games. (Email addresses, as always, remain secret).

• Before making a new game, you might consider simply joining an existing game.
• If there are no open games that strike your fancy then, at the bottom of the Main Menu, click the "Make a New Game" button.
• The game name that you provide must be distinct from any other games currently on Quantum Mafia. (Don't worry, you'll get an error if you try and use a pre-existing name).
• The required number of players is simply the number of players that will have to join the game before it is underway.
• You will also be asked to provide the number of each type of job in your game. Please be nice to my poor script and provide integers between 0 and the number of players.
  Also, you can do silly stuff like having a game where everyone is a mafia. However, everyone winning on the first day gets a little old after a while.
• After making the game, you will be given the opportunity join your own game courtesy of the "Make Your Player" button. I highly recommend it.

• Go to the Main Menu
• Click on one of the games under the "Open Games" heading
• At the bottom of the page, click on the "I want to participate in this game!" button.
• You will then be prompted for a name and password. The name need not be your own; it is simply the username for that game, but it might be nice if it bore some resemblance to your real name. As for the password, read the blurb about not using one of your secure passwords.

Configuring Your Player

• Open up your game (which should be under the "Initialized Games" heading)
• Find your name and click the "please configure here" link next to it
• Hopefully you remember your password from creating this character earlier.
• Assign people to various jobs with the pull-down selectors. No player can be assigned to the same job multiple times, but there are otherwise no restrictions on who you can choose.

Actually Playing The Game

• Open up your game (which should be under the "Ongoing Games" heading)
• There are two different ways to give your commands for the day/night.
  1. The button at the bottom of the screen, which will read "Vote to hang!" during the day and "Point at someone" at night.
     • This brings you directly to where you can make a decision
     • Fill in your name and password and choose who you wish to hang or point at.
  2. Click your name in the player list.
     • Fill in your password and continue.
     • This brings you to a screen which displays all the information about your mini mafia game within the larger quantum mafia game.
     • At the bottom of all the information you will be able to choose who you wish to hang/point at.
• IMPORTANT: The day phase does not end until all the players have voted to hang someone and one person gets some percentage of the votes. As such, you may want to re-check periodically to see how the vote is going, and perhaps change your vote such that someone actually gets hung. (Even though the night phase does not have this constraint, you can still change who your point at during the night up until the last person points at someone).

Viewing Player Information

• Open up your game
• Click your name in the player list.
• Fill in your password and continue (this is only necessary in Ongoing games, concluded games take you right to the information without a password).
• This will display the current state of each of the players in your game, if they are alive, dead or undead as well as what positions they hold/held.
• Below that you will find the events of the previous day or night.
• To see what transpired during all of the past days and nights, click on the "View All Records" button.
